Welcome!

Hello! I wanted to spend a minute here to introduce myself, our process, and an idea of what we are trying to accomplish at Bridges. First and foremost, I’m so excited to have you here learning about us! I (Marisa) have a background working with teenagers and adults with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and strokes to return to their communities more independently and safely. In moving back here to my home state, I found sometimes resources can be hard to find and that is how Bridges was created. I had the great support of my Board of Directors to help establish our vision of helping individuals throughout our state get access to our services.

So Bridges was born in our minds in mid-2018 and it has been a great experience for learning and growing. We have big dreams and goals but we are starting by addressing driving rehabilitation and community mobility for adults with neurologic injuries or illnesses. We have been fortunate to get donations from some businesses in the driving rehabilitation world and we look forward to using these great gifts to help you! Our evaluation equipment is currently being installed in our vehicle and we can’t wait to pick it up and try it out. We’ll update the site soon to give you a better idea of what our vehicle is equipped with and how we use it to help evaluate or develop driving skills. I’m always happy to answer any questions, you can reach out to us via our Contact page. Also, keep any eye out for our updated Resources page of general driving rehabilitation information for both medical providers but also for the general public.

We look forward to hearing from you and how we can help serve our communities better!

Marisa, OTR/L, CDRS, Executive Director
