Now seeing adolescents!
Hello and happy summer! It’s been a busy one here at Bridges and we are so happy to share our latest update. We are now approved by Oregon DMV to work with novice drivers for driver training. That means for those who do not yet have a driver’s license and need access to services, whether with or without adaptive equipment, we can discuss how we may be able to help. We’ve worked so hard to get to this point and our goal is to be able to improve access to all of those in Oregon who seek to become drivers but may not be able to follow more traditional routes such as school-based driver’s education or family training.
While we seek to expand our services to all new drivers, please be patient with us as we slowly roll out this programming. We are still working on expanding services to those clients on the autism spectrum but that should be coming Fall/Winter 2022!
We have options for packages for modified driver’s education or single service selections available. These sessions will be structured as 30 minutes of education in the style of driver’s education (for example, learning how to check a blind spot or set your mirrors, sequencing for lane changes) and 60 minutes of skills training and drive time.
